ASOS and ParalympicsGB announce partnership for Rio 2016 Paralympic Games

Tuesday 5th May 2015

Sam visited ASOS Studios in London with fellow Paralympians Will Bayley, Jordanne Whiley and Lauren Steadman, to meet with the online fashion retailer and officially announce its plans to design formal and ceremony wear for the entire British Paralympic squad in Rio 2016.

Ideas and opinions over the previous London 2012 look were exchanged and debated in anticipation of creating fresh and exciting designs for the hundreds of athletes that will be representing Great Britain in just over a year’s time.

“It is very exciting to be given decisive input on what our formal and ceremony wear is going to look like, the designers will do some fantastic work”, said Sam on the new partnership between BPA and ASOS. “With opinions so varied over a subject such as fashion, it’s impossible to please everyone but we hope that with adjustments and cooperation, they can come up with something special for these Games.”

The athletes also tried on some of the latest designs created by the lead fashion team and took to the catwalk in front of lights, cameras and the ASOS CEOs.
