Sam nominated for the Charnwood Sports Awards

After an incredible year for Sam, that included a memorable T35 100m and 200m debut at the London 2012 Paralympic games, Sam has been shortlisted for Senior Disability Sports Person of the Year at the 2012 Charnwood Sports Awards.

Previous winners of the award include former Loughborough University student’s Dan Greaves and Libby Clegg, who both competed with Sam at the London 2012 Paralympic games winning a Silver in the F44 Discus and Silver in the T12 100m respectively.

‘I am thrilled to of been considered for this award after an outstanding year of progression in Paralympic athletics for me.’ Commented Sam.

The award is given to a performer who has in the last 12 months had a significant impact on disability sport, has overcome barriers and inclusion to excel in sport, and acts as a role model for other disabled people.

The awards night take place at Loughborough College on Monday the 10th of December and the promises to be a great evening.
